THURSDAY

I caught The Weeknd’s first show in Toronto at the Mod Club last night and it was exactly the debut that fans were hoping for.
BLACKSTRAP MOLASSES
After spending some time in the sandy SoCal deserts I came across the band Blackstrap Molasses from Indio. Inspired by mid-sixties R&B, the group’s first effort Drag Your Hands and Feet is full of catchy bass lines and soulful, powerful vocals. Download their freshman debut in the format of your choice off their Bandcamp page.

24 HOURS IN NYC WITH ODD FUTURE
I was in NYC for the night on Tuesday and caught Odd Future’s second New York show at Santos Party House. These guys put on such a high energy performance and definitely have the charisma and drive to do really big things.
ODD FUTURE WOLF GANG KILL THEM ALL.

I’VE NEVER BEEN TOO GOOD WITH NAMES
I’ve been on a real Lemonheads kick this summer. With the summer winding down I’ll leave you with a few songs to enjoy for the next few weeks (and beyond).
“Would you like some help with your outfit?” “You’re just the guy to give it to me!”
